2019-2020 Rougarou Poetry Contest

CAConrad received a 2019 Creative Capital grant and has also received a Pew Fellowship in the Arts, as well as The Believer Magazine Book Award and The Gil Ott Book Award. The author of 9 books of poetry and essays, While Standing in Line for Death (Wave Books) won the 2018 Lambda Book Award. They teach at Columbia University in New York City, and Sandberg Art Institute in Amsterdam. Please submit three to five poems per entry, though you may submit as many separate entries as you like. Submissions may be in any form and on any topic, but must not have been published previously in print or on the internet or be currently pending publication. Simultaneous submissions accepted; however, please withdraw your submission on Submittable immediately if it is accepted elsewhere (Entry fees will not be refunded for withdrawn submissions; if you are only withdrawing one poem from a multi-poem entry, please note this on Submittable instead of withdrawing). This contest will be judged blindly and submissions should not include any identifying information on the poems themselves. Instead, please provide your email address and a short biography in the "Cover Letter" box. Students, faculty, and staff of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette are not permitted to submit to this contest.
